Colour Blocking is a screen printing technique that uses thickened Procion MX dyes, silk screens, and resists to build layered colour on cloth. The results are bold, unexpected, and completely your own.
This workshop will walk you through the whole process, from mixing your dyes to peeling back the final resist. You'll finish knowing how to print, layer, and experiment with confidence.
This workshop is for you if you work with fabric and want to go deeper. You don't need a printmaking background. You don't need expensive equipment. You need curiosity and a table you can cover with plastic.
Beginners are welcome here. So are experienced makers looking to add a new technique to their practice.

This is a self-paced three lesson video workshop. Watch at your own speed, pause when you need to, and return to any lesson as often as you like.
Each lesson builds on the last. You can work through the whole workshop in a weekend, or spread it out over several weeks. There's no wrong pace.

A note from Susan
I've been printing on cloth for a long time, and colour blocking still surprises me. There's something about pulling a squeegee across a screen and lifting it to see what's underneath that never gets old.
This workshop is built around what actually works at the table. Not theory — practice. I'll show you what I use, how I set up, and what to do when things don't go as planned.
You'll make mistakes. So do I. That's how this works.
